About the Ambassadors

The Beginning of Our Program

Importance of the Ambassador Program

What We Do

In 2006, Mrs. Moore visited Greer Middle School, and as they walked to the doors, they magically swung open and two smiling kids could be seen. These kids welcomed them to the school, said they were glad they were able to be there, and asked if they had any questions. The children gave them a tour of the entire school before leading them into the media center where they were supposed to be. The way they were brought into the school made them feel very welcome, and Mrs. Moore realized she wanted something like that at Saluda Trail, and thus, the Ambassador program was born.

Although the ambassadors do lots of things in the school, the most important thing we do is represent the school, our students, our teachers, and our programs for the visitors and the community.

As stated, the ambassadors have many jobs within the school. The first job is to always be ready. Sometimes Saluda Trail will have a new student, or unexpected visitors, and the ambassadors are the people Mrs. Campbell calls on to help them around the school. The ambassadors have two big programs, Oakdale Outreach and Tech Patrol. Oakdale Outreach is where students sign up to go to oakdale and help the kids with their homework, help the teacher, and do anything else that might be needed for them to do. Tech Patrol is when ambassadors sign up to go around school in either the morning or the afternoon and, depending on the time, turn the computers on or off in the labs. It is a big help for the ambassadors to do this, especially during MAPS testing. Another thing the ambassadors do is host events, such as open house or the first day of school.
